Kenyan leaders have mourned environment minister john Michuki who died of heart attack aged 80 Tuesday night. The Minister’s body was transferred from the Aga khan Hospital to the lee funeral home for preservation. Late Minister’s wife, children and relatives arrived at the lee funeral home this morning to view the minister’s body. Michuki’s death has been received with shock and disbelief both in and out of parliament. Kenyans on social media were among the first to react to news of his death. Members of parliament have since paid tribute to the late Michuki in their mourning session in parliament. Edith Kimani has more on this story.

A 35 year old woman has been arraigned in Eldoret Law Court for allegedly defiling a three year old boy. Rose Jemng’etich, was accused of defiling the minor last month in Kamwosor trading centre in Keiyo South district. The court was told that the woman infected the boy with a sexually transmitted disease. She was released on a two hundred thousand shillings bond with the case set to be heard on April 23, 2012.
